A city block podium at 300 George Street, Brisbane required an enticing concept for three street elevations. The rippling surface was inspired by the river surface which it overlooks. Nearly 12,000 square metres of a single unit which rotates on its axis creates a dynamic visual outcome for viewers outside and in. A modern interpretation of domestic breeze block, these hollow units would be cast in metal and lined in automotive paint, the colour subtly changing across its area.

The project also includes two different scaled ceramic tile walls which echo the facade. One is at pedestrian level while the other reaches the height of the building in a central panel on the eastern side.

making places
53 Albert Street, Brisbane evolved out of a clear idea influenced by pragmatic considerations. This artwork wraps around three sides of an inner city high rise building. The view is brought down to pedestrian level in a language understood by all.
The artwork covers a multi floor carpark unseen from the outside by day or night yet with 40% permiability. Made from laser cut aluminium, no two panels of the approximately 2500 square metre facade are the same.
